opal and sapphire ring in solid gold | P 1/2

Goldsmithing in my home studio in NSW. This ring features solid Australian opal and Australian sapphire. Each stone was carefully cut and polished by me from rough material in my studio.

The opal was fossicked in Lightning Ridge, NSW and the raw sapphires were fossicked in Inverell, NSW. These beautiful Australian gemstones were shaped and finished by hand before being set into the ring. The piece reflects the landscapes the stones came from.

The ring is made from 100 percent certified Australian solid 9ct yellow gold sourced from Palloys, one of Australia’s most reputable precious metal refiners. Every stage of the process, from cutting the stones, to the goldsmithing, takes place in my home studio.

What do I mean by solid gold?
Solid gold means the metal is the same all the way through. It is not plated, filled or layered. The gold you see on the surface is the same material throughout the entire piece. I work exclusively with solid precious metals and never use plated or filled alternatives.
