Chamber

A sculptural ring hand-carved from natural agate found in the creeks of the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales.

The stone reveals a natural druzy crystal formation where the interior of the agate has been opened, exposing a delicate field of tiny quartz crystals. These crystals catch the light with a subtle sparkle, contrasting with the smooth polished surface of the surrounding stone. Warm amber and honey tones move through the agate, highlighting the layered mineral patterns formed deep within the earth.

Agates from the Northern Rivers region formed millions of years ago within volcanic rock, where silica-rich fluids slowly filled cavities and crystallised into banded agate and quartz. As the surrounding rock gradually eroded, these stones were released into local creek systems where they can still be found today.

The ring was cut, drilled, shaped and polished from a single piece of agate using traditional lapidary techniques, allowing the natural structure of the stone to guide the final form.
