Erosion
A one of a kind agate ring hand carved from stone found in the creeks of the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales.
This piece is formed from softly translucent milky agate, with subtle warm inclusions that appear suspended within the stone. The smooth, rounded form allows light to pass gently through the agate, revealing delicate internal structures that formed as silica slowly crystallised within ancient volcanic rock.
The simplicity of the form highlights the quiet beauty of the material. Soft variations in colour and faint natural markings give the ring a calm, luminous quality while preserving the natural character of the stone.
Agates from the Northern Rivers formed millions of years ago when silica rich fluids moved through cavities in volcanic rock and gradually crystallised over long periods of time. As the surrounding rock eroded, these stones were released into local creek systems where they can still be found today.
The ring was cut, drilled, shaped and polished from a single piece of agate using traditional lapidary techniques, carefully revealing the natural structure and translucency of the stone.
